Assault In Kincardine

(KINCARDINE, ON) – One person is charged following an alleged assault in Kincardine.

On May 6, 2024, at 5:49 p.m., members of the South Bruce detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an altercation between two individuals at an address on Highway 21, Kincardine Township. 

Police have charged a 26-year-old individual from Sarnia with Assault.

The accused has been released from custody and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on June 12, 2024.

Arson & Assault – Sean NOLAN Arrested

(SUNDRIDGE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an arson in the Village of Sundridge. 

On May 6, 2024, shortly after midnight the Almaguin Highlands OPP along with Parry Sound District Paramedic Service and the Sundridge Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire on John Street.

Investigation revealed that a person lit their residence on fire and barricaded themselves inside the residence. Out of concern for their safety, police entered the residence and located the person with a knife in hand. Consequently, the person was arrested safely by officers and transported to hospital for assessment.

As a result of the investigation, Sean NOLAN, 57-year-old from Sundridge was charged with:

  • Arson – Disregard for human life
  • Assault a peace officer with a weapon
  • Arson – Damage to property
  • Assault
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest

The accused was remanded into custody and awaits a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Parry Sound.

Mathew HART Arrested Again – Assault

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – One individual has been charged with several offences following an investigation into an assault incident.

At approximately 12:04 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an assault on Queensway West in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that two individuals engaged in a dispute while in a vehicle, resulting in the victim being physically assaulted and the vehicle sustaining damage. Minor injuries were reported.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 24-year-old Mathew HART of Norfolk County:

·      Assault,

·      Assault with a weapon,

·      Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm,

·      Fail to comply with Probation Order (two counts),

·      Mischief under $5,000.

The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

Repeat Offender Joshua BERNICKY Arrested Again – Assaults

(PERTH, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid numerous charges in connection with an assault in downtown Perth.

On April 24, 2024, around 8:00 p.m., officers were called to a parking lot on Gore Street where two people had been shot by a pellet gun, resulting in minor injuries. The culprit then fled the scene.

On May 2, 2024, Lanark County OPP officers and the Lanark OPP crime Unit, supported by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) executed a warrant at an apartment on Gore Street.

Joshua BERNICKY, age 33 of Perth, was arrested without incident and has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon – two counts
  • Assault causing bodily harm – two counts
  • Assault – two counts
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Personating a Peace Officer
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – two counts

The accused remains in custody following bail hearing and is scheduled to appear again before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 6, 2024.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Kayla QUIBELL – Assault

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – One individual has been charged as a result of an investigation into an assault.

At approximately 11:29 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an assault at an address on Queensway West in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that three individuals had a dispute on the premises, resulting in physical assaults on two of them.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 25-year-old Kayla QUIBELL of Norfolk County:

  • Assault (two counts).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Serious Assault: Wayne FLEGEL & Christopher MCCANNA-WRIGHT Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people following a serious assault in Renfrew.

On April 24, 2024, around 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance and located two males with stab wounds on Airth Boulevard. Both were transported to hospital by Renfrew County Paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two people were arrested without incident on April 25, 2024.

Wayne FLEGEL, age 60 of Renfrew, has been charged with two counts of attempt to commit murder. This accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 29, 2024.

Christopher MCCANNA-WRIGHT, age 34 of Renfrew has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon. This accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 26, 2024.

PSW Arrested For Assault – Name Released

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid charges against a personal support worker.

The investigation began earlier this month after police were contacted by members of the victim’s family. The victim in this investigation is a youth and the assault’s took place over the past few weeks at the victim’s home while they were in the care of the accused.  

On Friday April 19, 2024, Parmjit Kaur Uppal (45) was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  1. Assault (2 counts);
  2. Assault causing Bodily Harm.

Uppal was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The accused, a personal support worker, was an employee of Paramed Home Health Care. Police believe there may be additional victims and a photograph of the accused has been attached to this media release.

Investigators are asking anyone with information, or anyone who has been victimized by the accused to contact the HRPS Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.

Elderly Resident Charged with Assault with a Weapon after Dispute in Seaforth

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a dispute that took place in Seaforth on Wednesday April 3rd that resulted in criminal charges for a Huron East resident.

On April 3rd, 2024, just after 7:00 p.m. Huron OPP officers received a report of dispute at an address on Main Street in Seaforth, in the Municipality of Huron East. Two males were arguing while police were present, when one of the males drove their pickup truck directly at the other male on foot, almost striking them with the vehicle. The driver was immediately arrested and charged.

William HUNT, 76 years-of-age from Huron East has been charged with the following offences:

–      Assault with a Weapon,

–      Dangerous Operation.

The accused was processed and later released with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on May 27th, 2024.

Nicole ROSATTE Was Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest following a report of a disturbance.

On April 17, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., OPP received a call from a concerned member of the public regarding a disturbance at a residence on Cassidey Drive in the Municipality of Brighton. Individuals could be heard screaming at each other and a glass container was used as weapon during an assault. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended and treated the victim for minor injuries.

The accused had left prior to police arrival and was located a short distance away.

Nicole ROSATTE (age 38) of Brighton, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon.

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Anonymous Violent Criminal Punches Officer In Face Then Released In Hanover #NameNames #CowardCops

On April 16th, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m. the Hanover Police Service responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver on 10th Street in the Town of Hanover.  Officers on patrol located the vehicle in a drive thru of a restaurant and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, a 24-year-old Hanover man refused to provide a sample of his breath for analysis, resisted arrest and struck an officer in the face while attempting to flee the scene on foot.  The suspect was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

Officers seized a small quantity of methamphetamine along with open alcohol from the vehicle.  Further investigation determined the suspect was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code for a previous impaired driving conviction in 2022 and suspended from driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

The suspect was lodged in police cells and later released when he sobered, facing the following charges.

  1. Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine
  2. Fail or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  3. Resist Peace Officer
  4. Operation while Prohibited x 2
  5. Obstruct Peace Officer
  6. Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
  7. Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
  8. Drive Motor Vehicle, Fail to Display Two Plates
  9. Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle – Open Liquor
  10. Driving While Under Suspension
