Cindy D. TUCKER Was Arrested

(ERIN, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver after an automated licence plate recognition system (ALPR) alert.

On August 31, 2024, at approximately 10:45 a.m. a member of Wellington County OPP was patrolling Wellington Road 124 in the Township of Erin and received an ALPR alert for a stolen vehicle. As a result of the investigation, Cindy D. TUCKER, 43-years-old of Guelph, was charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Driving while Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Class G1 Licence holder – unaccompanied by a qualified driver contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

Pedestrian Suffers Life Threatening Injuries

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On June 15, 2024, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious, motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 124, west of Erin. Initial reports indicated that a white sport utility vehicle collided with a pedestrian on Wellington Road 124 between Wellington Road 125 and Third Line.

Emergency service responded and the pedestrian, a 21-year-old male from Erin, was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Investigators are asking anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam footage, or anyone with information related to the collision, to call 1-888-310-1122.

The roadway remained closed till mid day.

Thang Son NGYUEN Was Arrested

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On May 24, 2024, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 26, Erin. At approximately 2:30 p.m., a driver of a black sedan was observed operating the vehicle erratically.

As a result of an investigation, Thang Son NGYUEN, a 49-year-old resident of Waterloo, was charged with Operation While Impaired, Dangerous Operation, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition, and Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code. Further, the accused was also charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was held for bail.

Over 500 grams of Cocaine, a loaded handgun and over $10,000 in Canadian currency was seized.

Couple Brutally Attacked By ATV Operators

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently seeking the publics help in identifying two All Terrain Vehicle (A.T.V.) riders who assaulted and threatened a couple on the Cataract Trail in Erin.

It was reported that on April 5, 2024, just before 8:00 p.m., a small, red A.T.V. was trespassing on a section of trail near Stanley Park. They approached a couple on the trail and a 60-year-old male was assaulted. The victim and his 54-year-old spouse fled to a vehicle where one assailant continued to threaten the couple. The male required treatment for his injuries.

One suspect is described as male, tanned, average height, with black, thinning hair, bald spot, and a light beard. He was wearing a camo jacket, grey hoodie, and white shoes. The second suspect was described as male wearing a blue parka and dark pants. See attached photo.
