Missing Person Found Deceased

(GODERICH, ON) – On April 13, 2025, at 2:31 a.m., members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a boater was reported missing from the Goderich Harbour area. The individual has been located deceased. No foul play is suspected. 

The Huron County OPP want to thank the public for their assistance.

ALERT: Missing Person – Ronald, 75 Years Old

(GODERICH, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking public assistance to locate a missing person.

On April 13, 2025, at 2:31 a.m., members of the Huron County OPP received a report that Ronald, 75 years-of-age is believed to have been fishing in the West side of the Goderich Harbour. He was reported to have left his residence to fish at the harbour on April 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.

Ronald is described as:

·      6″ tall

·      180 pounds

·      Short grey hair

·      Blue eyes

·      Slim build

Last observed wearing:

·      1 white and 1 blue pull over

·      Blue jeans

·      Black snow pants

·      Brown winter coat

·      Baseball hat (dark colour)

There will be an increased police presence in the Goderich Habour area. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre is assisting with water and air searches. Please avoid the area.

Arson In Goderich – Chleo HATFIELD Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – Members from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and Huron County OPP Major Crime Unit investigated a suspicious fire that took place in Goderich on February 19, 2025.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Huron County OPP and the Goderich Fire Department responded to a suspicious recycling bin fire located outside a building on Hamilton Street in Goderich.          

The investigation revealed an individual had started the fire, which caused damage to the building exterior and wiring. The dollar value of the damage to the building has yet to be established. No injuries were reported, however the building has several apartments within.

Following the investigation, one individual was arrested on March 16, 2025 and charged as follows:

Chleo HATFIELD, 19 years-of-age of Goderich has been charged with the following offences:

–      Arson – Disregard for Human Life,

–      Mischief Over $5,000,

–      Mischief Endangering Life.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, then later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 28, 2025.

Vehicle Used In Goderich YMCA Smash & Grab

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual from Huron County following a break and enter to the Goderich Y.M.C.A. on March 10th, 2025.

At 12:20 a.m. on March 10th, 2025, an individual used a small car to ram the front doors of the YMCA building located on Suncoast Drive East in Goderich. The driver made repeated attempts and eventually broke the doors open to gain entry to the building. Once inside, the suspect attempted to enter several areas of the facility then departed in the same vehicle. The suspect was identified by police and was arrested later that same morning.

The accused has been charged as follows:

Philip REED, 59 years of age from No Fixed Address has been charged with:

–      Break and Enter,

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Dangerous Operation,

–      Fail to Stop After Accident.

The accused was processed and later released with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 14th, 2025.

Missing Person Found Deceased

(GODERICH, ON) – On March 4, 2025, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located the missing 16-year-old male from Goderich deceased.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 1:38 p.m., members of the Huron County OPP were notified of a missing youth, who was last seen on foot near Goderich District Collegiate Institute, located on South Street in Goderich.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, and no foul play is suspected.

The OPP would like to thank the public and media for their assistance during this investigation.

Kyle HENRY Arrested 2X In One Day In Goderich – #Catch&Release

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual from Huron County following incidents at two separate locations in the Town of Goderich on February 6th, 2025. 

On February 6th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by staff at the Goderich Hospital who reported an individual causing a disturbance and mischief on hospital property. Police attended and arrested the individual. Several charges were laid as follows:

Kyle HENRY, 58 years of age of no fixed address has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Causing a Disturbance,

–      Indecent Act – Public Place.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing where they were later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 10th, 2025. 

On February 6th, 2025, just before 7:00 p.m., Huron County OPP were contacted by staff at a Goderich retail store on Huron Road. An individual was reported to have committed a mischief while inside the store. The individual was identified as the same accused charged earlier in the day. The accused was located near the store and arrested by police. An additional charge against Kyle HENRY has been laid as follows:

–      Mischief Under $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 10th, 2025.

MACTAVISH Was Arrested Again – Details Released

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual from Huron County following a mischief to a Goderich bank automated teller machine (ATM) vestibule area in January 2025.

On January 31, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by bank staff who reported someone damaged the bank ATM area on January 30th. The suspect was identified by police but was not located at that time.

On February 08, 2025, officers located the suspect and made an arrest. They have been charged as follows:

Christopher MACTAVISH, 42 years of age from No Fixed Address has been charged with:

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative, or ineffective,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

19 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(GODERICH, ON) – On February 3rd, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed several criminal acts against their partner.

A 19-year-old individual from Goderich was arrested on February 4th, 2025 and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Mischief – Domestic,

–      Fail to Comply with Release Order (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

2 Arrested After Theft In Goderich – Names Released

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two London residents with several criminal offences following a theft from a retail store in Goderich on January 07, 2025. 

Just before 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 07, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by staff at a Goderich retail store who reported a theft that had just occurred. Suspects and vehicle description were provided to police.

Officers patrolled for the suspects and later received a report of the same vehicle parked on Huron Road near Seaforth. Officers attended the vehicle location and located the two suspects nearby. The suspect vehicle had been reported stolen earlier from the City of London. Further stolen items and a prohibited knife were seized. The pair were arrested and charged as follows:

Brayden DUNPHY-GORMLEY, 28 years of age from London has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000 – (two counts),

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000,

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000,

–      Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon.

The accused was processed and held in custody for a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, where they were remanded into custody. 

Matthew SQUISSATO, 35 years of age from London has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000,

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000,

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000,

–      Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon,

–      Obstruct Peace Officer,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order – (three counts).

The accused was processed and held in custody for a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, where they were remanded into custody. 

Police would like to speak to any witnesses who may have seen the pair walking on Huron Road near Seaforth seeking fuel for the stolen vehicle. Time frame was 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on January 7th. Teen Charged After Truck Stolen & Stopped With Spike Belt- Name Released

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Mississauga resident with several offences following a truck theft on January 04, 2025, in the Town of Goderich. 

Just after 6:20 a.m., on Saturday, January 04, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by a vehicle owner who reported their 2024 Toyota Tundra pickup truck had just been stolen from their laneway on South Street in Goderich.

Officers observed the stolen truck travelling eastbound on Huron Road and set up tire deflation devices (TDD) which were successfully deployed, deflating the front tires of the truck.

The driver was arrested without incident and charged as follows:

Joseph SHEPHERD, 19 years of age from Mississauga has been charged with:

–      Theft Over $5,000,

–      Flight From Peace Officer,

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) including failing to stop for stop sign and driving without a licence.

The accused was processed and held in custody for a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, where they were remanded into custody.
