Jennifer KRUPA – Drunk Driving

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into an impaired driving incident in Simcoe.

At approximately 6:05 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a two-vehicle collision on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe, Norfolk County. No injuries were reported.

As a result, one of the drivers was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 39-year-old Jennifer KRUPA of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Careless driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Christopher YETMAN Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into a collision in Waterford.

At approximately 12:48 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 24 in Waterford, Norfolk County. No injuries were reported.

After conducting a roadside sobriety assessment, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 34-year-old Christopher YETMAN of Brantford, Ontario:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand,
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero,
  • Careless driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

3 Facing Assault Charges

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Three individuals have been charged in connection with separate assault investigations.

At approximately 9:21 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an assault on John Street in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that the victim was approached by an individual on the property and subsequently physically assaulted. The victim was then transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect was later taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 64-year-old Kenneth LUCAS of Norfolk County:

  • Assault (two counts).

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe.

At approximately 11:19 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, the Norfolk County OPP Detachment investigated an assault on Sydenham Street in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that a group of individuals was involved in a dispute at a business, which resulted in two of them physically assaulting the victim. Minor injuries were reported.

As a result, the suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 58-year-old Victor CARVALHO and 64-year-old Timothy SAUNDERS, both from Norfolk County:

  • Assault.

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals were charged following investigations into separate impaired driving incidents.

At approximately 7:25 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a single-vehicle collision on Norfolk County Highway 24 East in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that the vehicle had collided with construction equipment on the roadway. No injuries were reported.

After assessing the driver’s sobriety at the scene, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 34-year-old Jesse MILLER of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Dangerous operation.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

At approximately 4:04 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2024, an officer from the Norfolk County OPP Detachment conducted a vehicle stop and investigation on Norfolk Street South in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

Following a roadside sobriety assessment, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 40-year-old Nicole DELONG POWER of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Driving while under suspension (two counts),
  • Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted speed limit (two counts).

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Mark DA SILVA Was Arrested Again

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following a break-and-enter investigation in Simcoe.

At approximately 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a break-and-enter in progress on Sheridan Boulevard in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that an individual had unlawfully entered a residence on the property and fled on foot after being confronted by the homeowners. No items were reported missing or stolen from the residence.

Just before 7:00 a.m., patrolling officers located an individual matching the suspect’s description at an address on Oakwood Avenue in Simcoe, Norfolk County. The individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 45-year-old Mark DA SILVA of Norfolk County:

  • Unlawfully in dwelling house,
  • Trespassing at night,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Drug Bust

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following an investigation into drug trafficking, which involved the execution of a search warrant at a residence by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

At approximately 12:08 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024, the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU attended a location on Highway 3 in Simcoe, Norfolk County, where they arrested the driver of a vehicle on sufficient grounds related to drug trafficking offences.

Upon searching the individual, officers discovered and seized a quantity of Canadian and American currency.

Around 12:52 p.m., the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU, supported by the West Region OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Oakwood Avenue in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

A search of the residence led to the discovery and seizure of a quantity of suspected cocaine and methyl​enedioxy​methamphetamine (MDMA), along with Canadian currency, drug paraphernalia, and a prohibited weapon.

Photographs of the seized items are attached for reference.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 35-year-old Justin HASKETT of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada,
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The accused was held in custody until their bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing, and police anticipate additional arrests. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

Fatal Collision Update: Ahmad HAMMADEH Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged as part of an ongoing investigation into a fatal collision in Waterford.

On the afternoon of Sunday, September 15, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment arrested an individual in connection with a fatal collision involving a motorcyclist.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 19-year-old Ahmad HAMMADEH of Hamilton, Ontario:

  • Dangerous operation causing death.

The accused was held in custody until their bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Monday, September 16, 2024.

Shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, officers from the Norfolk County OPP Detachment, along with the Norfolk County Fire Department and Norfolk County Paramedic Services, responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Thompson Road East in Waterford, Norfolk County.

As a result, the motorcyclist, a 23-year-old from Oxford County, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and encourages anyone who was travelling on Thompson Road East around the time of the collision to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

Fatal Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On September 14, 2024, at approximately 4:55 p.m., the Norfolk detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a five-vehicle collision on Highway 6, near Blueline Road, Port Dover.

Members of OPP, Norfolk County Fire and Paramedic Services attended to assist.

The investigation determined that three motorcycles, a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), and a pick-up truck were involved in a collision at that location.

A passenger of one of the motorcycles, a 33-year-old from Sudbury was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The operator of the same motorcycle was transported to a trauma center with serious injuries.

The operator of a second motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Four other vehicle occupants were not injured.

Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team attended to assist with the investigation.

Highway 6 remains closed between Blueline Road and Pheasant Trail/Blue Lake Avenue while police continue to investigate.

Fatal Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision involving a motorcycle in Waterford.

At approximately 6:50 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment, along with the Norfolk County Fire Department and Norfolk County Paramedic Services, responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Thompson Road East in Waterford, Norfolk County.

As a result, the motorcyclist, a 23-year-old from Oxford County, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the SUV sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Thompson Road East, between Duncombe Road and Cockshutt Road, is expected to remain closed for the next several hours.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and encourages anyone who was travelling on Thompson Road East around the time of the collision to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

More Impaired Charges

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A motor vehicle driver and a vessel operator were charged following separate investigations into impaired driving incidents.

At approximately 8:31 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a single-vehicle collision on Main Street in Port Dover, Norfolk County.

It was determined that a sedan was travelling along Main Street when it collided with two parked vehicles. No injuries were reported.

After conducting a roadside sobriety assessment of the driver at the scene, officers took the individual into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 25-year-old Jerome ZEDO of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Drive without proper headlights – motor vehicle.

The accused is schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

At approximately 9:23 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024, marine officers from the Norfolk County OPP Detachment stopped and investigated a vessel in the Inner Bay of Lake Erie, Norfolk County.

After assessing the operator’s sobriety, officers took the individual into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 52-year-old Neil CLARKE of St. Thomas, Ontario:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Failing to exhibit masthead light forward on power-driven vessel underway,
  • Failure to have proof of competency on board a pleasure craft.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
