Squatters Arrested – WARD & LIZZOTTE

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On April 13, 2020 at approximately 11:45 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Guelph Lake Sports Fields on Woodlawn Road East in Guelph-Eramosa Township. It was reported that a group of individuals who appeared to be consuming drugs, were living in a shack in the woods constructed out of an outhouse. The witness also advised that there were numerous bicycle parts laying around and was concerned that the bikes were stolen and dismantled.

Police attended the out building that was equipped with a well and woodstove and located three individuals. Officers observed drug paraphernalia included used syringes and empty dime bags that contained fentanyl. A flick knife was also seized.

As a result of the investigation, Dean LIZZOTTE, 50-years-old of Guelph has been charged with Fail to Comply With Undertaking X2 contrary to the Criminal Code.

Christopher WARD, 40-years-old of Guelph has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code.

Both accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 31, 2020 to speak to their Charges.

A 25-year-old individual of Guelph was cautioned and transported home.

The Wellington County OPP continue to investigate this incident.
