Repeat Offender Arrested With Methamphetamine – MACKINNON

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On April 13, 2020 at approximately 1:50 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious person inside of a business on Highway 7 near Rockwood.

The complainant advised that she located an individual in an outbuilding on her property that is used for the production and sale of maple syrup. The complainant further stated that the suspect had altered the interior of the building and that they were also smoking crystal methamphetamine. The suspect fled on foot into the bush when confronted by the complainant.

Officers located the suspect on Indian Trail a short time later and they were placed under arrest.

Investigation revealed that the suspect was breaching a recognizance and was in possession of crystal methamphetamine.

As a result, Gerald Christopher MACKINNON, 46-years-old of Guelph has been charged with Break and Enter a Place – Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence and Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Possession of Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 31, 2020 to answer to the charges.
