(HOWICK, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Wellington County resident with a number of driving offences following a fail to stop for police occurrence that took place in Gorrie last week.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2020 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a pickup truck without licence plates travelling westbound on Gough Road. The investigating officer turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver immediately accelerated and fled.
The driver then drove into Gorrie where they raced by a cyclist, skidded through the intersection of Alma Street and William Street and drove across a lawn before the driver parked it at an Alma Street property.
The investigating officer arrived on scene moments later and arrested the driver without incident.
Shaunnice WHITE, 22 years of age, from Wellington North Township has been charged with Dangerous Operation, Flight from Peace Officer, Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance and Drive Motor Vehicle, No Plates. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 6, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
