Wingham Suffers From Rash Of Break-ins #StandYourGround #ShovelJustice

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a rash of break-ins that have taken place at a Wingham trailer park.

The subsequent investigation has revealed a total of seven sheds located at the trailer park on John Street West have either been entered or entry was attempted.

An OPP officer met with one of the owners yesterday to secure the properties. At this point in time investigators are unsure as to what all property was stolen.

Huron OPP is urging all vacation property owners to ensure that all valuable and items such as alcohol are removed from the premises. Small appliances, electronics and alcohol are often targeted by thieves as they are easy to steal and equally easy to sell for cash and drugs. Cottages, trailers and other out-buildings should be properly locked at all times.

Property owners are encouraged to have someone check their vacation property on a frequent basis during the off-season” to ensure everything is secure. This tried and tested method is the best deterrent against crime.

The OPP continue to appeal to persons living in and around trailer parks and/or cottages to report any and all suspicious activity to police when it happens.

Any person with information regarding this incident should immediately contact Huron OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 524-8314.
