(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges against an Essex County resident in relation to some concerning incidents that took place last week.
On Friday, September 25, 2020 Huron County OPP met with two victims that reported they had fearful interactions with a suspicious person. Police learned the accused approached a teenaged student that was waiting for the school bus and asked the student several times if she wanted to get into his vehicle. The shaken student declined and immediately reported the matter when she arrived at school.
Shortly after the accused was involved in another incident when he caused another victim to fear for their safety after he followed her in her vehicle to a business in Lucknow. A brief exchange took place and the accused departed.
Later that day the accused was arrested in Perth County for driving related offences. Upon his release in Perth County the accused was transferred into the custody of Huron OPP.
While in the custody of Huron OPP the accused threatened to cause harm to one of the investigating officers, as well, he intentionally caused damage to a holding cell.
Timothy HEBERT, 58 years of age from Essex has been charged with Criminal Harassment – 2 Counts, Mischief Under $5,000 and Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 2, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
