(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges against a Huron County resident after learning the accused failed to pay his bill at a hotel in Goderich.
On September 25, 2020 Huron OPP responded to a hotel in Goderich to investigate a situation involving a customer that failed to pay an outstanding tab for a three-night stay along with other charges billed to his room account. Police learned the uncooperative customer attempted to pay his bill with a credit card and when the transaction did not complete he vacated the premises without paying the outstanding bill.
Police were able to identify the accused and a couple days later he was arrested in Goderich without incident.
Johnathan LEWIS, 44 years of age of no fixed address has been charged with Food & Lodging Fraud and Failure to Comply with Probation Order. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 23, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
