Passenger Arrested For Failing To Abide By Conditions

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A South Huron resident was arrested and charged last night with criminal offences after he was caught breaching his court conditions of release.

On Sunday, April 27, 2020 at approximately 8:16 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer initiated a traffic stop east of Exeter on Thames Road for speeding. During the course of the investigation officers completed a check on a passenger in the vehicle. The subsequent check revealed the passenger was failing to abide by a condition of his court release which was to be within his residence 24 hours a day.

As a result, Mitchell HARRIS, 31 years of age from South Huron has been charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 29, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich.
