29 Year Old From North Huron Arrested In Clinton – Mellisa BELL

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Huron resident with Impaired Operation and Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) Over 80 following a traffic stop that took place early this morning.

At approximately 12:38 a.m. on May 20, 2020 Huron OPP officers were patrolling in Clinton when they came across a vehicle with an expired licence plate sticker on Princess Street.

Officers followed the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. While speaking with the driver officers noted the driver to be displaying signs that she was impaired by alcohol. As a result the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation. Soon after she was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of her breath were provided to the intoxilizer technician and both samples were analyzed to be over the legal limit.

Mellisa BELL, 29 years of age, from North Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 10, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. Her motor vehicle was impounded and her driver’s licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
