(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 47-year-old from Exeter is facing charges after he was caught going out for a drive this past weekend when he shouldn’t have been.
At approximately 7:10 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed the accused operating a sport utility vehicle on Edward Street in Exeter. The officer had knowledge the accused was prohibited from driving so a traffic stop was initiated.
Upon checking on the licence status of the driver it was learned the accused was currently serving five criminal code driving suspensions as well as a provincial suspension. Further investigation revealed the accused was operating the vehicle with licence plates not authorized for the vehicle and without insurance.
Shane CLARKE, 47 years of age from Exeter has been charged with Operation While Prohibited (five counts), Driving While Under Suspension, Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance.
He has a court date scheduled for August 20, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.
