K9 Used To Locate Criminals – Names Released

(DAWN-EUPHEMIA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On April 22, 2021 at 3:30 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted regarding a suspicious vehicle at a storage facility in Dawn-Euphemia Township.

Officers attended and surrounded the property until an OPP Canine Unit (K9) arrived. While searching the area, General Service Dog (GSD) “Blitz” located one of the individuals who was taken into custody. A second individual made themselves known to officers after realizing the capabilities of an OPP GSD.   

As a result, James ALDERTON, 64-years-old of Charing Cross, and Heidi DEHOOG, 49-years-old of Bothwell have been charged with:

  • Break, Enter dwelling house-commit indictable offence.
  • Possession break in instruments.

DEHOOG faces additional charges of:

  • Failure to comply with undertaking.
  • Possess schedule 1 substance-methamphetamine.

The accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
