Kieren BOLDUC – Assault & Threats

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Ignace Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with numerous offences. 

On July 16, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Ignace OPP Detachment responded to an incident at a residence on Spruce Street, in the Township of Ignace.

As a result of the investigation, Kieren BOLDUC, an 18-year-old Ignace resident has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Adult Failure to comply with an undertaking – two counts

·        Adult Assault a Peace officer – two counts

·        Adult Resist Peace officer – two counts

·        Adult Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden at a later date.

Braeden TRIST – Assault With Weapon

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with assault with a weapon. 

On July 10, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., members of the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to an incident at a local restaurant, in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Braeden TRIST, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Adult assault with a weapon

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 12.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(DRYDEN, ON) – An investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP Detachment, has led to charges being laid against two local residents.

On July 2,2024, just prior to 11:00 p.m., a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed at a residence on North Minnitaki Road, Municipality of Machin, where a quantity of suspected cocaine, Canadian currency, and evidence of drug trafficking were located.

As a result of the investigation, Jaden SKYE, 22 years old, of Minnitaki, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Additionally, Vanessa SKYE, 52-years-old, of Minnitaki, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offence:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

The accused individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 29, 2024, in Dryden.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(DRYDEN, ON) – Two individuals are facing drug trafficking and weapons charges following an investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP Detachment and the Northwest Region Canine Unit.

On July 3, 2024, just prior to 5:00 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on Highway 17, in the Township of Zealand. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and fentanyl, as well as a firearm, Canadian currency, and evidence of drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, Marko SHKILNY, 29-years-old, of Toronto, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

·        Resist peace officer

·        Obstruct peace officer

·        Assault with a weapon

·        Flight from peace officer

·        Dangerous operation

·        Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order (2 COUNTS)

·        Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

·        Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

·        Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

·        Possession of a firearm knowing that the serial number has been tampered with

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (5 COUNTS)

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

Additionally, Bryson DUCHARME, 29-years-old, of Sioux Lookout, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

·        Resist peace officer

·        Obstruct peace officer

·        Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,

·        Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

·        Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

·        Possession of a firearm knowing that the serial number has been tampered with

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (5 COUNTS)

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

The accused individuals have been remanded into custody at the Kenora District Jail where they are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 9, 2024.

Leroy VINCENT Was Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – Two individuals are facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP detachment.  

On June 26, 2024, just before 7:00 a.m., members of the Dryden OPP CSCU conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17, Satterly Township. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine and oxycodone. 

As a result of the investigation, Leroy VINCENT, 57-years-old, of Wabigoon, and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine 

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone 

The accused individuals have been released from custody. Leroy VINCENT is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 15, 2024, in Dryden. The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 23, 2024, in Dryden.

Ted DIETSCH Was Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

On June 21, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to a call for service of a possible impaired driver on Government Street, in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden detachment for further testing.

Ted DIETSCH, 32-years-old, of Dryden, has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation while impaired -alcohol and drugs

The accused have been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on July 22, 2024.

Trisha RENNIE Was Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

On June 21, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17 in the Municipality of Machin after observing it to be travelling at a high rate of speed.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle was intoxicated by drugs or alcohol and was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Dryden detachment for further testing.

Trisha RENNIE, 43-years-old, of Regina, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

·         Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·         Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·         Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

·         Speeding 1-49 Km/h over posted limit

·         Fail to surrender insurance card

·         Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

·         Fail to stop on right for emergency vehicle

·         Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on August 26, 2024.

ATV Patrol Leads To Arrests

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) have arrested two individuals for not abiding by court conditions while conducting All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) patrol.

While conducting ATV patrol within the City of Dryden on June 20, 2024 at approximately 11:48 a.m. officers located two individuals on a three wheeled vehicle and conducted a stop.

Further investigation led to Myles VIEGANDT, 39-years-old of Dryden, ON being arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and Provincial Offences Act:

  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number
  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Fail to surrender evidence of insurance
  • Drive off-road vehicle – no number plate
  • Drive off-road vehicle – no permit
  • Drive non-passenger ATV with a passenger
  • No Driver’s licence
  • Driving while under suspension

Further, Stephanie HAZLEWOOD, 30-years-old of Dryden, ON was arrested and charged for failing to comply with a Conditional Sentence Order and the following offences under the Criminal Code and Provincial Offences Act:

  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number
  • Permit off-road vehicle to be driven – no insurance
  • Fail to meet vehicle safety standards
  • Make false statement

As a result of this investigation, both accused’s have been held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Bail Court in Kenora to answer to the above charges.

Gregory BAZOS Was Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

On June 14, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment initiated a traffic stop on Government Street, in the City of Dryden.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden detachment for further testing.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(DRYDEN, ON) – Two local residents are facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP detachment and the Red Lake OPP CSCU. 

On June 12, 2024, just before 10:00 p.m., members of the OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on Pine Crescent in the City of Dryden.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, morphine, oxycodone, and methylphenidate. Other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result of the investigation, Mary Maicy MACHIMITY, 49-years-old, and Clayton THOMPSON, 52-years-old, of Dryden, have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code with the following offences:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – 4 counts

·        Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

·        Failure to comply with Undertaking

The accused individuals have been remanded into custody at the Kenora District Jail and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Friday June 14, 2024.
