The Municipality of Brockton invites qualified applicants for the full-time position of Fire Prevention Officer/Health and Safety Training Coordinator. The Fire Prevention Officer/Health and Safety Training Coordinator enforces fire service legislation such as the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, the Ontario Fire Code and applicable by-laws and coordinates and implements prevention/public education initiatives. This position is also responsible for promoting a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and develops and implements policies and procedures that meet legislated requirements while delivering training. The ideal candidate will have experience related to fire prevention, inspections, enforcement, delivery of training and in-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The ideal candidate should be an out-going, self-starter who is flexible, exhibits superior time management capabilities and has excellent written/oral communication and computer skills.
