Impaired Driver, Loaded Handgun & Methamphetamine – ANGOK & KHALAF

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On June 6, 2020 at 10:54 p.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a speeding motor vehicle travelling with three occupants at 186 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Dundas St., located in the Municipality of Thames Centre. A traffic stop was conducted and police soon learned that the driver was impaired. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the London OPP detachment for further testing.

During the course of the traffic stop police also located a loaded handgun in plain view and a quantity of drugs. All three occupants were placed under arrest at the scene.

As a result of an investigation police have charged Diu ANGOK -age 27- of London, ON with:

CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

CC 320.14(1)(a) Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

CC 320.14(1)(b) Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

CC 94 Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

HTA 172(1) Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed

Police have also charged Wally KHALAF -age 20- of London, ON. With:

CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

CC 94 Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Police have also charged a Young Person with:

CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

CC 94 Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

CDSA 4(1) Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

The motor vehicle was impounded and the drivers licence was seized. The accused parties were released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in a London court room at a future date in August to speak to the charges.

The OPP will continue to investigate those who put our communities at risk and this serious example contains a mixture of speed, alcohol, drugs and a loaded weapon. Our officers are dedicated to public safety and work hard protect the communities we call home.
