Drunk Driver 2x Limit Arrested – Matthew ALEXANDER

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – An impaired driver in North Perth will now be walking after their licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

Just after 11:00 p.m. on November 04 2020, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program on Line 87, in the Municipality of North Perth, when a driver entered the program. During the course of the investigation, officers formed the opinion that the driver had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing, where two samples of breath provided were more than double the legal limit.

As a result, Matthew ALEXANDER, 34, of North Perth, has been charged with:

Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.
