Do You Recognize This Theft Suspect?

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On January 17, 2020 at approximately 3:40 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft at a consignment/thrift store on St. David Street North in Fergus.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 2:00 p.m. an unknown person attended the business and removed one of two backpacks from the store that were on display and not for sale. The person placed the item in a shopping cart, exited the store and took it to their pick-up truck. They returned to the store a short while later and attempted to take the second backpack however, was advised by a store employee that the item was for auction not for sale.

Police would like to speak with the person in the attached photo. If you can assist with this investigation please call the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.
