(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid counterfeiting charges against a pair of Huron County residents following an investigation that started in August.
On August 24, 2020 Huron OPP commenced an investigation to determine the source of some counterfeit $100 bills that were being passed at various businesses in Exeter.
Investigators were ultimately led to two individuals that had used the counterfeit bills at three business located in Exeter. Police also turned up evidence that revealed one of the accused’s had been responsible for making the counterfeit bills. Additionally, police also found stolen personal identification with one of the accused.
Dayna STANLEY, 27 years of age, from Exeter has been charged with: Possessing Counterfeit Money – 3 counts, Uttering Counterfeit Money – 3 counts, Making Counterfeit Money and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – two counts. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 2, 2020.
Kyle GREER, 30 years of age from Huron East has been charged with: Possessing Counterfeit Money – 3 counts, Uttering Counterfeit Money – 3 counts and Fail to Comply with Probation Order – 3 counts. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 10, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
