(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On December 21, 2019, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was investigating a collision on Highway 6 near Maltby Road. The officer observed a grey sport utility vehicle approaching the collision scene travelling above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h.
As a result, Jeremy Matchelle EDWARDS, 23-years-old of Kitchener, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on March 4, 2020. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
