Meth Bust – Names Released

(Bancroft, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug charges after a traffic stop in the Town of Bancroft.

On July 21, 2024, shortly before 12:00 PM, officers conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Bancroft. As a result of the investigation, 36-year-old Kathleen CLANCY of Bancroft, 35-year-old Drew JESSUP of Coe Hill and 31-year-old Michael LANDRY of North Kawartha, were arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

Possession of Schedule 1 – methamphetamine; and

Unauthorized Possession of Weapon.

Drew JESSUP was additionally charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000.

They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on September 17th, 2024.

Kara PEPPER Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual is facing driving and drug-related charges following an investigation into an impaired driving incident in Port Dover.

At approximately 8:03 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment, along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services and the Norfolk County Fire Department, responded to a collision involving a pickup truck and a sedan near the Port Dover lift bridge on Hamilton Plank Road in Port Dover, Norfolk County. Minor injuries were reported for both drivers.

After assessing the pickup truck driver’s sobriety at the roadside, they were taken into custody without incident.

Officers discovered and seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone (Dilaudid) during a search of the vehicle.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 35-year-old Kara PEPPER of Niagara Falls, Ontario:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Dangerous operation,
  • Driving while under suspension,
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin).

The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

Nikko YOUCKE Arrested – Meth A Factor

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after collision in Middlesex Centre.

On July 1, 2024, at 1:05 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Southminster Bourne in Middlesex Centre, was flagged down by multiple individuals involved in a collision.

Investigation revealed the driver of a pickup truck collided with a motorcycle from behind.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed an unknown drug. The driver was arrested and transported to the Oxford OPP detachment where tests from a Drug Recognition Expert were administered.

As a result, Nikko YOUCKE, a 20-year-old of St. Thomas, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Dangerous operation

·      Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 6, 2024.

There were no injuries reported.

2 Arrested In Meaford – Names Released

(MEAFORD, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges after the police received complaints of trespassers on their property.

On June 23, 2024, at 3:56 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of two individuals trespassing on someone’s property and that one individual was still on the property and the other left on foot. Police located the individual on foot and the individual at the residence. 

John Lawrence, 57-years-old of Meaford was charged with, theft under $5000.

Scott Weiler, 36-years-old of Meaford was charged with, theft under $5000 and possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine.

The accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 25, 2024.

The Grey Bruce OPP want residents to call 1-888-310-1122 or 911 if they suspect someone is trespassing on your property.

$100,000 Meth Bust

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On June 19, 2024, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling Main Street North, Mount Forest. At approximately 11:15 p.m., the occupant of a silver sedan was observed trafficking a controlled substance.

As a result of an investigation, Peter A FORSCHNER, 58-year-old of Mount Forest, was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on July 23, 20024.

Investigators seized nearly an estimated $1000,000 in contraband, drug trafficking equipment and currency.

Ryan CHANG Was Arrested

(SABLES-SPANISH RIVERS TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid 43 impaired driving charges since January 1, 2024.

On June 19, 2024, shortly after 4:00 p.m., the Manitoulin OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17. Police received information that the vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed and unable to maintain its lane.

Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, police were able to determine that the driver was impaired. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Ryan CHANG, 26-years-old from Vancouver has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule III substance – two counts
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on August 6, 2024.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

$365,00 Drug Bust

(LEAMINGTON) – One person is facing numerous charges after police executed two search warrants at residences in the Municipality of Leamington. Police executed two additional search warrants on motor vehicles.

On June 18, 2024, at 4:30 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex County Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Essex County (Leamington) detachment, and the OPP Canine Unit executed warrants at locations on Elliott Street and Talbot Street East in Leamington.

Police seized significant quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and Xanax with an estimated street value in excess of $365,000. A photo of the seized drugs, drug trafficking paraphernalia, currency, mobile phones and body armour is attached to this media release.

Shelldon STEWART, 41-years-old of Leamington, is charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl CDSA S. 5(2) (two counts)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine CDSA S. 5(2) (two counts)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine CDSA S. 5(2) (two counts)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Xanax CDSA S. 5(2)
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime – CC Section 354(1)(a)

The accused appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor for a bail hearing on June 18, 2024, and will be held in custody to make another court appearance on June 25, 2024.

Another Met Bust

(WEST NIPISSINGON) – Police arrested and charged two people with weapons and drug related offences after a traffic complaint.

On May 4, 2024, shortly before 5:00 a.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Front Street, West Nipissing.

As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested. A search of the vehicle located an air pistol, drug paraphernalia and drugs suspected to be, cannabis, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Gabrielle BARONETTE, 24 years-of-age and Tristan BERTRAND, 28 years-of-age, both from West Nipissing, were charged with:

  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a schedule I substance
  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking

Gabrielle BARONETTE was further charged with, drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 6, 2024, in North Bay.

Shawn MOON Was Arrested

(WEST NIPISSINGON) – Police arrested and charged one person after a report of a theft of a bike.

On May 5, 2024, shortly before 8:30 a.m., Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft of a bike from a residence on Mageau Street, West Nipissing.

An unknown person had taken the bike and fled into a wooded area, but was shortly located and arrested by police.

A search of the person located, Canadian currency and drugs suspected to be Cocaine, methamphetamine, opioids and other drugs.

As a result of the investigation, Shawn MOON, 45-years-old, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Theft under $5000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on May 15, 2024.
