Middlesex Weekend Report

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – Over the course of the weekend, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were busy during their part to keep our communities safe. 

(Thames Centre) – On, April 18, 2021 at 8:44 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police, were requested to observe for a vehicle that had been involved in a fail to remain collision in Lambton County. Middlesex OPP officers located and stopped the vehicle on Harrison Street in Thames Centre.

Upon further investigation, police determined the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired by drug.

Michael HEATON, a 44-year-old from Woodstock has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence, section 32(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in a London court room on May 25, 2021.

(Adelaide-Metcalfe Township) – On April 17, 2021, Middlesex OPP responded to the report of a break and enter on Cuddy Drive, Adelaide-Metcalfe Township. During the period of April 10 to April 17, 2021, a window was smashed to a shack where entry was gained and ransacked. A subsequent trailer was also entered and suffered minimal damage. The investigation is ongoing.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
