Chatham-Kent Police Daily Update – 21Mar2024

Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 165 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Nine person was arrested and seven on an outstanding warrant.

Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24012455

At 12:55 p.m., the woman attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham and was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on February 28, 2024.
The 27-year-old Wallaceburg woman is currently faces the following charges: theft, possession of stolen property and failing to attend court. She was held pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24012460

At 1:16 p.m., police located the man on Degge Street in Chatham and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

The 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He currently faces the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order, assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats and two counts of failing to attend court.

As a result of a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody with a March 25, 2024, video court appearance.

Man Arrested for Theft CK24012488

On March 18, 2024, police responded to Lacroix Street in Chatham for an Intimate Partner Violence Investigation.

Through investigation officers learned a verbal argument between the man and the woman escalated when the man took the woman’s phone and attempted to block her from leaving. The man fled the home prior to police arrival.

On March 20, 2024, at 4:28 p.m., the 36-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested. He was charged with assault and forcible confinement. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24012513

At 7:29 p.m., police located the man on Queen Street West in Chatham. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court and arrested him.

The 41-year-old Wallaceburg man was released with a future court date of April 22, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: mischief.

Man Arrested for Probation Violation CK24012534
At 8:55 p.m., an officer on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Upon conducting a traffic stop the officer learned the man driving was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle and bound by a probation order.

The 38-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a probation order, driving while prohibited and two counts of driving under suspension. He was transported to police headquarter and released with conditions and a future court date of April 22, 2024. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.
