Logan MONAGHAN Facing Numerous Charges

(Severn Township, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with stunt driving in Severn Township.

On March 27, 2025, while conducting traffic patrol on Hwy 11 North bound in Severn Township, an officer of the Orillia Detachment conducted a traffic stop due to a vehicle traveling at a rate of 142km per hour in a posted 90km per hour zone.

Logan MONAGHAN, 22-year-old of Orillia, was charged with:

·      Adult Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed.

·      Adult Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit

·      Adult Drive while under suspension

·      Adult Entire plate not plainly visible

·      Adult Fail to have insurance card

·      Adult fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

John RASHAWN Was Arrested Again

(SEVERN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with multiple offences after locating a vehicle in the ditch in Severn Township.

On December 1, 2024, at approximately 12:52 a.m., Orillia OPP were conducting patrols in the area of Highway 11 and Centre Ave. Officers located a vehicle stuck in a ditch on a ramp merging onto/off the highway, and stopped to assist.

During this interaction, officers discovered that the vehicle was stolen and that the driver was wanted for several criminal offences in Toronto. Upon learning this, the driver fled on foot to avoid arrest, but was located and arrested a short time later.

John RASHAWN, 22-year-old of Etobicoke, has been charged with:

●          Adult Obstruct Peace Officer

●          Adult Possession Break In Instruments

●          Adult Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

●          Adult Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – two counts

The accused was held pending a bail hearing on December 1, 2024.

Stephanie COECK – Drunk Driving

(SEVERN TOWNSHIP, ON)- On March 3, 2024 near 10:00 a.m. an officer from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment was patrolling on Highway 400, Severn Township in a police vehicle equipped with a Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) at which time the ALPR made notification of a possible suspended driver operating the SUV. A vehicle stop was made resulting in the officer upon speaking with the driver and entered into an drinking and driving investigation.

As a result of this investigation the driver of the SUV, Stephanie COECK 44-years of Bala has been charged criminally with the following driving offences.

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

And Further with

  • Driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused was released from police custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on March 14, 2024, and faces a 90 day driver’s licence suspension along with a tow and impound invoice for seven days as per the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines).

Recently, patrol officers were able to set up 12 Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) programs at various roadway locations resulting in over 180 drivers being checked for signs of impairment.
