Amy LYNCH Was Arrested

(KILLALOE, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged with criminal offences.

On August 27, 2024, just after 7:00 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began in investigation into a threats complaint which happened at a campsite off the 523 Highway in the Township of South Algonquin.

As a result of police investigation, 35-year-old Amy LYNCH of Hamilton has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·        uttering a threat to cause bodily harm or death and,

·        mischief to property under $5000.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke on October 16, 2024.

Fatal Collision

(KILLALOE, ON) – Members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal single vehicle collision on Highway 60 in South Algonquin Township.

On August 31, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded alongside Fire and Rescue and Renfrew County Paramedics to a report of a motorcycle collision on Highway 60.

As a result, a 70-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Highway 60 a since been reopened.

Wiliam KRANZ: Drunk Driving

(KILLALOE, ON) – Police have laid criminal charges on a driver.

On August 2, 2024, just after 4:00 a.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), conducted a well being check on a driver parked on 60 Highway, in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.

As part of the investigation, the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing. As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Wiliam KRANZ of North Algona Wilberforce was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      impaired operation; and,

·      impaired over 80.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court on August 28, 2024, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle towed and impounded.

More Impaired Drivers: Jonathan ZADOW & Barbara MIRECKI

(KILLALOE, ON) – Police have laid impaired charges on two drivers involved in recent collisions.

On August 2, 2024, just before 10:00 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the Township of Bonnechere Valley.

As a result of this investigation, 42-year-old Jonathan ZADOW of Eganville was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Impaired Operation; and,
  • Refusal to Comply With Demand.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 28, 2024, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle towed and impounded. No reported injuries.

On August 3, 2024, just after 10:00 p.m., police responded to a single vehicle collision on Old Barry’s Bay Road involving a passenger car in the Township of Madawaska Valley.

As a result of this investigation, 74-year-old Barbara MIRECKI of Chicago was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      Impaired Operation; and,

·      Over 80.

The driver sustained nonlife threatening injuries in this collision and was transported to the hospital by paramedics. The licence was seized, and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

Drug Bust: Jonathan CHANT-SINON & Megan Anne NICHOLS

(KILLALOE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to offer support to the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, which declared a State of Emergency December 1, 2023, in response to opioid related harms affecting the community and its members.

On August 2, 2024, around 3:00 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle as a result of an ongoing partnership between police and the Algonquin’s of Pikwakangan Ontario First Nation Territory.

A quantity of suspected cocaine, money and drug paraphernalia were seized by police. The occupants of the vehicle were arrested without incident.

As a result of the investigation 30-year-old Jonathan CHANT-SINON of North Algona Wilberforce Township has been charged with the following Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substance Act offences:

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine (CDSA);

·      Possession of proceeds of crime, CC; and,

·      Breach of release conditions.

Co-accused 37-year-old Megan Anne NICHOLS of Renfrew has been charged with:

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine (CDSA); and,

·      Possession of proceeds of crime, CC.

Both accused remain in custody pending a bail court hearing, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. Kelly ZOHR – Drunk Driving

(KILLALOE, ON) – Police have laid impaired charges on a driver after responding to a report of a vehicle collision.

On July 16, 2024, just before 8:00 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a passenger car and a pickup truck on private property in the Township of Bonnechere Valley.

As part of the investigation the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing. As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old Kelly ZOHR of Eganville was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Impaired Operation; and,
  • Over 80 mgs of Alcohol per 100 ml of Blood.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 21, 2024, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle towed and impounded. No reported injuries.

Repeat Offender Arrested For Domestic Assault #WaitInTheTruck

(KILLALOE, ON) – Criminal charges have been laid in a recent Intimate Partner Violence call.

On July 14, 2024, members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault on the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan Ontario First Nation Territory. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 32-year-old from Pikwakanagan with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • domestic assault cause bodily harm;     
  • domestic assault (two counts); and,
  • breach of release conditions.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail court hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Douglas KYOMYA Was Arrested

(KILLALOE, ON) – Members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a criminal charge after a traffic stop.

On July 6, 2024, just after 11:00 p.m., police stopped a passenger car on 60 Highway, in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged 34-year-old Douglas KYOMYA from Ottawa with the following Criminal Code, (CC) offence:

  • Prohibited Driving.

The driver was also issued a summons to appear in court for speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Augst 14, 2024, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.

Devon KINGSBURY – Break & Enter & Theft

(KILLALOE, ON) – Police have arrested and charged one person with criminal offences in relation to an entry that occurred in 2023.

On August 8, 2023, members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the break and enter at a residence on 60 Highway in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce. Household copper wire and piping were stolen.

As a result of police investigation, 29-year-old Devon KINGSBURY of Eganville was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

·      break and enter; and,

·      theft under $5000.

The accused was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on July 31, 2024, 9:30 a.m., Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.

Trevor RECOSKIE – Threats

(KILLALOE, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged with criminal threats.

On June 4, 2024, just before 3:30 p.m., members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence on Palmer Road in theTownship of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan.

As a result of police investigation, 45-year-old Trevor RECOSKIE of Palmer Rapids has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

         uttering threat – cause bodily harm (two counts).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke on July 24, 2024.
