IDDLESEX, ON) – Over the course of the weekend, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were busy doing their part to keep our communities safe.
(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Single vehicle collision results in Impaired charge
On June 12, 2022, at 6:39 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to River Drive, Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a single vehicle collision.
An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment where further tests were administered.
As a result, Aaron TOWNE, a 45-year-old of Wardsville, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.
(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – RIDE Program results in Impaired charge
On June 12, 2022, at 1;10 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were performing a RIDE program on Thorndale Road in Thames Centre. A vehicle entered the program and the driver was suspected to have consumed alcohol.
An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment where further tests were administered.
As a result, Thang NGO, a 41-year-old of Thamesville, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.
(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Traffic complaint results in Impaired charge
On June 11, 2022, at 3:30 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to Highway 401 westbound, Thames Centre, where multiple calls were received for a possible impaired driver.
The vehicle exited the highway onto Putnam Road and struck a hydro pole. No injuries were reported.
As a result, a 17-year-old youth of Brantford, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada and Highway Traffic Act with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Young driver – B.A.C. above zero
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.
(STRATHROY-CARADOC, ON) – Single vehicle collision results in Impaired charge
On June 11, 2022, at 2:24 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to Highway 402 eastbound, Strathroy-Caradoc for the report of a single vehicle collision.
An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment where further tests were administered.
As a result, Brett BANKS-GOLEM, a 22-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.
