2 More Drunk Drivers Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving.

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, shortly after noon, L&A County OPP members were called by 11 different drivers about a vehicle that had struck the guardrails and centre median on the 401 Highway. Police located the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

Antoine CHARBONNEAU, a 26-year-old from Saint-Alexandre, Quebec was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous operation
  • Driving motor vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

On Monday, April 14, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m., L&A County OPP was called regarding a traffic complaint on Highway 41. Police located the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

Kierston-Lee JEFFREY, a 25-year-old from Napanee was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Drive motor vehicle no licence

Both of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving involving collisions in a four-hour window.

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, shortly after 12:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members were called about a vehicle that was involved in a collision on Melrose Road in Tyendinaga Township. Police located the vehicle nearby and the driver was arrested.

Taylor THORNE, a 34-year-old from Tyendinaga Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol

Also on Thursday, just after 4:00 p.m., L&A County OPP was called after a vehicle was observed in a driveway in Newburgh with considerable damage. Following an investigation,

Patricia STONE, a 63-year-old from Newburgh was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Fail to stop after accident

Both of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 15, 2025. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.

3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three people with impaired driving over the last three days.

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., L&A County OPP members observed a vehicle swerving on Highway 401 eastbound near Palace Road. Police stopped the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

Shahid IQBAL, a 43-year-old from Toronto was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol

On Monday, March 17, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m., L&A County OPP was called after a vehicle left the road and struck a hydro pole on Bridge Street in Greater Napanee. The lone occupant of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Following an investigation, Victor ABRAMS, an 82-year-old from Napanee was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol

Also on Monday, March 17, 2025, just after 10:00 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious vehicle stopped near the intersection of County Road 7 and County Road 41 in Addington Highlands Township. Police attended to investigate and the driver was arrested.

Pamela BENNETT, a 73-year-old from Belleville was charged with operation while impaired – drug.

All the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 8, 2025. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.

Robin VIRK Was Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Members of theLennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Emergency Response Team have arrested two people after an investigation revealed the two vehicles they were travelling in were stolen.

On Friday, February 21, 2025, officers observed the suspicious vehicles travelling eastbound on the 401 Highway near Highway 41. After confirming the vehicles were stolen, officers safely stopped the Range Rover at the Odessa Onroute, and a Toyota Highlander was then stopped at the Montreal Street exit in the City of Kingston. A search of the vehicles confirmed that individuals were using two-way radios to communicate with each other.

Robin VIRK, age 20, of Niagara Falls and Ron HARDING, age 48, of Ajax have been jointly charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime – over $5000
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Possessing automobile master key
  • Possession of break in instruments

VIRK was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on March 25, 2025. HARDING was remanded in custody with another court appearance scheduled for today (February 24, 2025).

Serious Head On Collision

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – A head-on collision northeast of Belleville has left one person with serious injuries.

It happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday February 5, 2025, on Shannonville Road, between Shannon Road and Scuttlehole Road. Officers with the Lennox and Addington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Tyendinaga Township firefighters and Hastings Quinte Paramedics all responded to the scene.

One person had to be extricated from a vehicle by firefighters.

The lone occupant of one vehicle was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The three people in the other vehicle suffered only minor injuries.

The investigation by members of the Lennox and Addington County OPP, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigation team members, is continuing.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving and numerous other offences in separate incidents overnight.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, shortly before 9:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members were called to a residence over concerns an unlicensed and intoxicated male was driving a vehicle. 

James HORNER, a 34-year-old from Napanee was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Operation while prohibited under the criminal code

On Wednesday, February 5, 2024, just before 4:00 a.m., L&A County OPP was called to the scene of a single vehicle rollover on the 401 Highway in Belleville.

Following an investigation, Hunter BRESEE, a 23-year-old from Newboro was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous operation

Both of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee at a later date. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving and other offences in separate incidents over the weekend.

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, shortly before 3:30 a.m., L&A County OPP members received a crash notification from a cell phone and located a single vehicle collision on Old Highway 2 in Tyendinaga Township. Officers located the lone occupant who was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. 

Logan CROSSEN, a 25-year-old from Deseronto was subsequently charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous operation

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, just before 7:00 a.m., L&A County OPP were called about a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the 401 Highway in Greater Napanee.

Following an investigation, Kelly JOHNSON, a 40-year-old from Mississauga was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in February 2025. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.

3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three drivers in impaired driving related investigations.

On January 3, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Adair Road in Stone Mills Township. Officers responded and located the driver of the vehicle at a nearby address, who was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Brycen KNOWLER, age 27, of Tamworth was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to report accident
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

While investigating the collision, officers became aware of an individual that had attended the scene after the collision. Officers spoke with the driver of an additional vehicle, and they were subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Jake WALKER, age 28, of Tamworth was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On January 4, 2025, just before 2:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a transport truck on Highway 401 westbound in Loyalist Township. No injuries were sustained. As part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver of the passenger vehicle was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Jessica SLAWTER, age 43, of Kingston was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

All accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.

Vulnerable Defrauded – Christina EAGLES-CORBET

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Members of theLennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have laid multiple fraud related charges against an individual from Napanee.

 Following a year-long investigation into allegations of missing money belonging to individuals in a vulnerable sector, an arrest was made on December 31, 2024.

  Christina EAGLES-CORBET, age 42, has been charged with:

  • Fraud over $5000 – two counts
  • Theft over $5000 – two counts
  • Falsification of books and documents – three counts
  • Theft under $5000
  • Fraud under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on February 18, 2025.

4 More Impaired Drivers Arrested – Names Released

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged four people with impaired driving and numerous other offences in separate incidents over the weekend.

On Friday, December 13, 2024, shortly after 8:30 p.m., L&A County OPP members were conducting a RIDE check in the village of Bath when a vehicle turned and fled. An individual was located following a foot pursuit. 

Joseph MACDONALD, a 20-year-old from Bath was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, just After 3:00 p.m., L&A County OPP were called after a driver was observed using a handheld device and passing on the shoulder of the 401 Highway near Marysville Road. Police located and stopped the vehicle.

Following an investigation, Zeiad SHAARAWY, a 23-year-old from Montreal was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Have care or control of a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, just after 9:00 p.m., police were advised of a fail to remain collision in the area of County Road 7 in Loyalist Township. This collision resulted in significant property damage but no injuries. While police were at the scene, an individual returned to the location and was later arrested.

Steveylynn OLIVER, a 35-year-old from Camden East was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Dangerous operation
  • Fail to remain

Also, as result of the same investigation, Douglas OLIVER, a 37-year-old from Camden East was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Dangerous operation

All of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 7, 2025. Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.
