2 Arrested After Fleeing RIDE

(ARCHIPILAGO TOWNSHIP ON) – Police arrested and charged two people with drugs and firearms related offences, after fleeing from a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program.

On March 10, 2025, at approximately 11:25 p.m., members from the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Anishinabek Police Service were conducting R.I.D.E. on Highway 69, in Pointe au Baril.

A ride share vehicle with five occupants was stopped and police initiated a Cannabis Control Act investigation with the driver, who was removed from the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, a rear passenger entered the driver seat of the vehicle and began to drive away, two passengers attempted to exit the vehicle prior to it leaving but were unsuccessful.

Police were able to successfully deploy a Tire Deflation Device and then followed the vehicle until it was safely stop. The driver attempted to flee on foot but was arrested by police.

A search of the vehicle located cellular phones, a loaded prohibited handgun and drugs suspected to be cannabis, Cocaine and Fentanyl.

As a result of the investigation Dylan ALRIDGE, 27 years-of-age, from Toronto, was arrested and charged with.

  • Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Resist peace officer
  • Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
  • Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – four counts
  • Forcible confinement – two counts
  • Possession of illicit cannabis
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtain by crime

Kirk HOSTEN-ALEXANDER, 31 years-of-age, from Brampton was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 – four counts
  • Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtain by crime
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – four counts
  • Possession of illicit cannabis
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing
  • Forcible confinement – two counts

Both accused were held for Bail Court, then remanded back into custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 17, 2025, in Parry Sound.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ARCHIPELAGO, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two people with drug related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township.

On November 9, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m. officers stopped the vehicle for stunt driving. The vehicle fled from police and was later located in the Town of Parry Sound. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating over $36,000 of Canadian currency and suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $11,000. 

Nathaneel PEARSON, 27-years-old from Toronto was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited – three counts
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Possession of schedule 1 substance – cocaine
  • Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Use plates not authorized for vehicle

Quiara JOSEPH, 24-years-old from Hamilton was arrested and charged with:

  • Flight from peace officer
  • Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – in Canada

The accused persons were held for bail and will be returning before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 5, 2024.

Drug Bust

(ARCHIPELAGO, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two people with drug related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township.

On September 25, 2024, just before 12:00 a.m. officers stopped the vehicle as a result of an Automatic Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) hit. A wanted person from southern Ontario was located in the vehicle and arrested. Officers searched the vehicle and located a large amount of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $100,000.   

Anthony RATTRAY,24-years-old from North York was arrested and charged with:

·        Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on October 31, 2024

Matthew DELVES, 24-years-old from Markham was arrested and charged with:

·        Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

The accused was held for bail before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound.

Jeremy DEARING Was Arrested

(ARCHIPELAGO, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On April 20, 2024, shortly before 1:00 a.m. members of the West Parry Sound OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint on Highway 69, Archipelago Township. A vehicle approached the checkpoint, and it was determined the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving. The driver failed an Approved Screening Device (A.S.D) check at the roadside and was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Jeremy DEARING, 31 years-of-age of Brampton Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 6, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

AI & Spike Belt Used to Nab One From China Attempting To Flee

(ARCHIPELAGO, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with multiple offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township.

On April 6, 2024, just before 1:00 p.m. officers conducting general patrol on Highway 69 received an alert from the Automatic Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) regarding a stolen vehicle. Officers confirmed the vehicle was stolen from York Region and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop for police and officers deployed a Tire Deflation Device also known as a spike belt to safely bring the vehicle to a stop.  

As a result of the investigation Pu ZHANG 32-year-old from China was arrested and charged with: 

  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 10, 2024.

Weapon & Drug Bust – George & White

(ARCHIPELAGO, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged three people with weapons and drug related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township.

On February 27, 2024, officers stopped the vehicle for a sobriety check and observed cannabis readily available. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a firearm, high-capacity magazine, and suspected cocaine and Fentanyl with an estimated street value of over $22,000.  

A 16-year-old from Scarborough was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5000.00
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition
  • Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at unauthorized place
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime

Dallas White, 27-years-old from Vaughan was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
