Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after several five-dollar Canadian bills suspected to be counterfeit were passed at businesses in Goderich and Clinton over the past month.
The bills were similar to legitimate ones, however, they did show excessive wear, and colour differences. Huron County residents are being encouraged to double check their bills, and if they suspect a fraudulent bill is in their possession, contact the OPP, who will forward the bill(s) to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for further examination.
