Vandalism at High School Under Investigation

Barrie Police are investigating after a local high school was damaged by vandals over the Labour Day long weekend.

On Sept. 7, 2026, police were called to the Little Avenue secondary school after a construction worker attending the property for ongoing renovations discovered damage.

Several areas of the school had been spraypainted, including entrance doors, windows, and portions of the building and sidewalk. A glass divider at another entrance had also been smashed, with a small school chair believed to have been used to cause the damage.

A door to the school had also been forced open. Officers located multiple rooms that had been vandalized.

Police have obtained security camera footage and are gathering information to identify those responsible.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the lead investigator via email at 7498@barriepolice.ca.
