On September 9, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged a 17-year-old with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and other offences.
Around 12:25 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a youth in possession of a weapon in the 200 block of Albert Street West. Officers were dispatched to the scene and arrested the accused. Upon searching the accused, officers located a replica handgun with a CO2 cartridge and 3D printed handgun receiver.
The accused is charged with:
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition x2
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x2
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
