Matthew Cain – Break & Enter, Theft, Breach Probation

On September 8, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged 40-year-old Matthew Cain with break and enter, theft, and other offences.

Around 3:45 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a break and enter to a garage in the 100 block of Kerr Drive. Officers were dispatched to the scene and cleared the property. An investigation revealed a suspect had broken into a garage and stolen several items before leaving on a bicycle. Officers located the suspect, identified as the accused, riding a bicycle on Queen Street East. They were arrested.

Upon searching the accused, officers located and recovered the items stolen from the victim’s garage.

The accused is charged with:

  • Break, Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Theft – Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Appearance Notice – Court/Fingerprinting x2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
