Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 4, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Aug. 15, 2026, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Sept. 4, 2026, the woman attended Cornwall Police Service headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 6, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 4, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Sept. 4, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Oct. 6, 2026.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 5, 2026, and charged with mischief – destroys or damages property. It is alleged on May 31, 2026, the woman poured paint on an individual’s motor vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for her arrest. On Sept. 5, 2026, the woman attended police headquarters to address the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 13, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – On Sept. 5, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint in the City of Cornwall and an investigation ensued.
A 37-year-old man from Ottawa was arrested and charged with four counts of fail to comply with release order and three counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged on Sept. 5, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to remain in his residence at all times, to not contact or communicate with his girlfriend, to not be within 250 metres of any place he knows the woman to be, live or frequent and to not attend the City of Cornwall. He was also bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact or communicate in any way with his girlfriend and to not be within 100 metres of any place he knows the woman to be, live or frequent. It is further alleged the man attended his girlfriend’s residence. He was subsequently located by officers and taken into police custody. The man was charged accordingly and held in custody for a bail hearing.
Meanwhile, a 37-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Sept. 5, 2026, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate in any way with her boyfriend and to not be within 150 metres of any place she knows the man to live, work or frequent. It is further alleged the woman was in contact with her boyfriend. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on Sept. 15, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING, ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO RESIST ARREST, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 5, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant.
It is alleged on Dec. 16, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he attended a Brookdale Avenue business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Finally, it is alleged the man assaulted the Loss Prevention Officer at the business and threatened to physically harm the individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of:
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
On Sept. 5, 2026, police were dispatched to a Brookdale Avenue business, where the Loss Prevention Officer had the man in custody for theft. He was subsequently turned over to a CPS officer. The warrant was executed and the man was later released to appear in court on Oct. 13, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, MISCHIEF, SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – In the early morning hours of Sept. 6, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint and an investigation ensued.
A 39-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested and charged with fail to comply with probation order and assault with a weapon – domestic. It is alleged on Sept. 6, 2026, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged she threw her cell phone at her spouse, striking the man. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Meanwhile, a 46-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
- Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting
- Mischief – domestic
It is alleged on July 15, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. Reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the man’s arrest.
Finally, it is alleged in the early morning hours of Sept. 6, 2026, the man was once again bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged he damaged his spouse’s cell phone. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Sept. 29, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 6, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Sept. 6, 2026, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was taken into custody by a Loss Prevention Officer at the business and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The woman was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 6, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants and additionally charged with fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking.
It is alleged on July 2, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
It is also alleged on July 16, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.
It is further alleged on July 30, 2026, the man was once again scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking.
On Sept. 6, 2026, the man was located and taken into custody by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY, IMPAIRED OPERATION, REFUSAL
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 6, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
On Sept. 6, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to investigate an impaired driver complaint. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not be within 100 metres of his spouse and to not attend the woman’s address. It is also alleged he attended his spouse’s residence. The man was located by police and further investigation revealed he had operated his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While the officer was conducting an impaired operation investigation, the man allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 7, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on July 27, 2026, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued – led by a Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. In the early morning hours of Sept. 7, 2026, police were dispatched to a disturbance complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on Oct. 22, 2026.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 7, 2026, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged on Sept. 6, 2026, the youth threw rocks at his neighbour’s motor vehicle, causing damage. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest. On Sept. 7, 2026, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.
FAIL TO ATTEND
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 7, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and also charged with fail to attend for fingerprints as per undertaking.
It is alleged on July 15, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for his arrest.
It is also alleged on July 28, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of failure to attend court after having appeared.
On Sept. 7, 2026, the man was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man from Alexandria was arrested on Sept. 8, 2026, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with undertaking. On Sept. 2, 2026, a CPS officer was dispatched to investigate a threats complaint. It is alleged on three separate occasions (Aug. 10, 2026, Aug. 14, 2026, and Aug. 18, 2026), the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate directly or indirectly with a specific individual. It is further alleged he texted the individual he was prohibited from communicating with on each of these dates. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. In the early morning hours of Sept. 8, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was investigating an unrelated matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Oct. 20, 2026.
