On June 9, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. while conducting general patrols, Hanover officers observed a 28-year-old Hanover man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant and recently featured on Wanted Wednesday.
When officers attempted to arrest the male, he fled on a bicycle to avoid capture. After several blocks the suspect lost control, fell from the bike and continued to run on foot. After a brief foot chase the suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
The outstanding warrant was executed, and he was later released from custody with a new court date to answer to the charges.
The Wanted Wednesday program continues to yield great success since it was first introduced several years ago at the Hanover Police Service. The majority of those featured are arrested within a month, in large part due to tips from the community.
In the last few weeks alone, suspects featured on the program have been arrested by Owen Sound Police Service, West Grey Police Service, South Bruce O.P.P., Wellington County O.P.P., Peel Regional Police Service and the Hanover Police Service.
The Hanover Police Service reminds everyone who is wanted to contact the police service of jurisdiction who holds the warrant and arrange their surrender knowing it’s better to resolve these matters and continue through the court process than always having to look over one’s shoulder.
