(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged with multiple offences following a joint investigation by the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Preventing Auto Theft Unit (PATU) and the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
On the morning of Wednesday, January 28, 2026, members of the Norfolk County OPP PATU and Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU executed a search warrant at a property on St. Andrew Street in Port Dover in connection with an investigation into stolen property.
An individual was located on the property and taken into custody without incident. During a search of a residence on the property, officers seized a quantity of firearms and ammunition, as well as suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.

As a result, 31-year-old Matthew BRISSEAU of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – five counts,
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition – four counts,
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose – four counts,
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts,
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine,
- Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin).
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Friday, January 30, 2026.
