(Wingham, North Huron) If you care about what happens to North Huron over the next four years, October 6 is a night worth showing up for.
The Huron Chamber of Commerce is holding its Candidate Conversations event Tuesday, October 6 at 7 p.m. at F.E. Madill Secondary School. Attendance is FREE.
The candidates for Reeve will take the stage for a moderated public conversation. Other council candidates have been invited to a separate Candidate Connections portion of the evening.
Stephen “Buck” Hill has confirmed he will be there.
The Free Press encourages residents to show up, cameras up, questions in hand. With the controversies North Huron has experienced over public questions, recording and access to council, an independent public record matters. The Chamber says it will not livestream or record the event itself.
Voters will also have very different records and backgrounds to examine. Trevor Seip previously served on North Huron council from 2014–2018 and then as Deputy Reeve from 2018–2022. Mitch Wright is a member of the current council.
