Barrie Police are appealing to the public for help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with two separate break-and-enters on Bell Farm Road.
On July 22, 2026, officers were called to a restaurant around 1:20 a.m. after an alarm system alerted the owner to a break-in. Police discovered the suspect entered and exited the premises through the locked rear door.
Multiple units, including the K9 unit, assisted with the search. Despite these efforts, the suspect wasn’t located. The owner confirmed no money or property had been taken.
During a search of the area, police recovered a blue and black backpack containing several tools, including side cutters and a nail puller.
A short time later, officers were called to a nearby location regarding another break-and-enter. Police learned that around the same time as the first incident, a business in the area of Bell Farm Road and St. Vincent Street had also been broken into. In this case, the suspect entered and exited through a locked side door. The suspect observed on surveillance video was consistent with the individual involved in the restaurant break-and-enter.
Police are looking to identify a male, roughly five feet 10 inches tall, wearing a green ball cap, light-grey zip-up hoodie, dark grey sweatpants, and grey/black running shoes with white soles.
