A Barrie Police officer is facing charges following a recent incident involving a disturbance call on June 8, 2026.
The incident was brought to the attention of the Chief, who initiated a Chief’s complaint. The Barrie Police Service (BPS) Professional Standards Unit conducted the investigation and subsequently charged the 38-year-old officer with assault and assault causing bodily harm.
The officer, who has served in policing for 11 years and joined BPS in 2024, has since been reassigned to non-public facing duties.
