(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged an impaired motorist during a routine traffic stop.
On Thursday, March 12, 2026, officers from the Fort Frances OPP stopped a vehicle travelling without licence plates. During the investigation, officers observed open alcohol in the vehicle within reach of the driver.
As a result, Jamie SPADE a 34-year-old from North Caribou Lake, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired- blood concentration (80 plus)
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Driving while under suspension
- Drive motor vehicle, no plates
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Thursday, Mat 21, 2026.
