Jay Graf – Drunk Driving

On December 16, 2009 shortly after 11:00 pm, Huron OPP officers were set up for a RIDE checkpoint in Goderich. A vehicle entered the area and as one of the officers was speaking to the driver, an odour of an alcoholic beverage could be detected on his breath.

The officer read a demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath. The driver complied but failed his test and was arrested for Drive with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. A search upon arrest also revealed a quantity of cannabis marihuana.

The driver was taken to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. The results of the tests confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level that was above the legal limit of 80 milligrams.

As a result of the investigation, Jay GRAF (27) of Goderich has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. He will return to the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 25, 2010 to answer to his charges.
