(KINCARDINE, ON.) – On February 15, 2010 at 09:00 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of an attempted fraud in the village of Chesley. A senior citizen residing in Chesley received a letter from the Nelson Mandela Foundation to advise he’d won a prize of $850,000, and then asked that he send personal information to an address in Africa to confirm his identity. Luckily, the 88 year old male didn’t respond to the letter choosing instead to report this to police. The South Bruce OPP would like the public to be aware of this scam.
