Michael Weber Was Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual in relation to a fail to remain collision that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth.

On March 10, 2026 at approximately 2:30 p.m. Perth OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Union Street West and Richelieu Avenue South in the Town of Listowel. The vehicle and driver of interest fled the scene prior to police arrival.

On March 12, 2026, 23-year-old Michael Weber of Elmira was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking (Three Counts)

Further, the accused was charged with the following Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences:

  • Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance
  • Driving While Under Suspension (Two Counts)
  • Class G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver
  • Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner
  • Fail to Report Accident
  • Fail to Remain

The accused is being held in custody, scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Stratford on March 13, 2026.
