Jean BOUCHE Was Arrested

(NORTH BAY) – A driver is facing multiple charges after the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to nine calls reporting an erratic and dangerous vehicle travelling toward North Bay on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the OPP responded to a 911 call reporting a vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 63 at a high rate of speed. Callers reported the vehicle had no rear window or licence plate and was being driven in an aggressive and unpredictable manner. The OPP then received eight more calls regarding the same vehicle as it came towards North Bay, reporting it all over the road, speeding, and passing on blind corners and hills.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on the Highway 11/17 Bypass in North Bay. The driver failed to stop and continued at a high rate of speed, cutting vehicles off, and entering oncoming traffic lanes. Nipissing West OPP officers closed a section of Highway 17 and deployed a Tire Deflation Device (TDD), successfully bringing the vehicle to a stop in Pedley Township.

As a result of the investigation, Jean BOUCHER, 74 years of age, of Temiscaming, QC, was arrested and charged with:

·        Dangerous Operation

·        Flight from Peace Officer

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on March 11, 2026.
