Steven Spanswick – Drunk Driving

(Goderich, ON) Just after midnight on January 5, 2010 a Huron OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Huron Road in Goderich with two occupants. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer noted a quantity of open liquor inside the vehicle and could also detect the odour of alcohol coming from the drivers’ breath. The officer then read a demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath and the driver complied. He failed the test and was arrested for Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He was taken to the Huron Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. Both confirmed that the driver had close to double the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of driving.

As a result of the investigation, Steven SPANSWICK (29) of Kinlough has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He will answer to his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 22, 2010. The passenger in the vehicle was charged with having the open liquor.
