Wade Bell – Drunk Driving

(South Huron, ON) On November 29, 2009 shortly after 1:00 am, Huron OPP officers were conducting a RIDE checkpoint when a motorist alerted them to a suspected impaired driver who had stopped at the McDonalds Restaurant in Exeter. Officers left their location and observed the suspect vehicle exit the restaurant and turn north on Main Street. A traffic stop was made and upon speaking to the driver, it was observed that he had been consuming alcohol. A demand was made for a roadside sample of breath and the driver complied. The driver failed his test however and he was arrested and taken into the Exeter Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. Both tests confirmed that the man had nearly two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of driving.

As a result, Wade BELL (19) of Central Huron has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, one count of G2 Licence Holder – BAC Above Zero and one count of Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor. He will answer to his Criminal Code charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on January 28, 2010.
