(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Vehicle owners are reminded once again to lock up their vehicles and remove the valuables from them after police responded to two theft from vehicle occurrences in Exeter this past week.
A pickup truck parked in a laneway on Simcoe Street was entered overnight on April 14th. The owner reported security officer tools, including a protective vest were stolen along with keys to an all-terrain vehicle and the ownership for the vehicle.
Also this week a thief entered into an unlocked pickup truck that was parked in a laneway on Andrew Street. This time the thief stole a wallet that contained several pieces of government issued identification as well as some loose change.
Huron County OPP is urging all vehicle owners to always lock their unattended vehicles and remove valuables. If you have the ability to park your vehicle in a well-lit area or in a secure garage please do so. Further, if anyone observes suspicious activity please contact the police immediately. Your call may help us catch a criminal in your community.
