(NORTH PERTH, ON) -The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three people after a traffic stop in Listowel.
Just before 2:30 a.m., officers on patrol stopped a vehicle on Mitchell Road South, and discovered that the novice driver had been consuming alcohol. Additionally, two under-age passengers were in possession of alcohol.
As a result, an 18 year old resident of Huron East has been charged with:
Novice driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) above zero
An 18 year old resident of Minto Township has been charged with:
Person Under 19 Years having Liquor
A 17 year old resident of North Perth has been charged with:
Person Under 19 Years having Liquor
Perth County OPP want to remind parents and young drivers that drivers age 21 or under, and novice drivers of any age (with G1, G2, M1, or M2 licences) must not have any presence of alcohol in their blood when behind the wheel. This is commonly referred to as the zero BAC” or “zero tolerance” rule.”
