Stolen Credit Card Used In Goderich – Kate LACE Charged

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with one count of Fraud after she was caught making purchases with a stolen credit card.

On December 26, 2019 Huron OPP officers were contacted by a complainant that reported his wallet was stolen from of an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Balvina Drive in Goderich.

Upon realizing the wallet was stolen the credit card holder contacted his credit card company and the card was reported as stolen. Later that day a purchase attempt was made at a business in Goderich and the owner was notified. Police also learned the suspect utilized the stolen credit card to make $281 in purchases at a local variety store before the credit card had been frozen.

Following some investigation officers were able to identify a suspect and a few days later she was arrested by police on January 1, 2020 in the Town of Goderich.

Kate LACE, 26 years of age from Goderich has been charged with one count of Fraud Under $5,000. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 3, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
