(HURON COUNTY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate three suspected substance related overdose deaths that have taken place in Huron County since the end of January 2020.
A 38-year-old from Goderich and a 29-year-old from Exeter died on the weekend of January 25/26th and a 23-year-old from Morris-Turnberry was found dead on February 5, 2020. All three males died in their respective homes.
In each case, investigators are awaiting on the results of toxicology tests to help determine the cause of death however they are each being treated as unrelated drug overdose deaths.
Three deaths in a relatively short period of time certainly highlights the fact that the misuse and abuse of controlled substances is dangerous and can be deadly.
If you suspect someone is overdosing or is in need of medical attention immediately call 9-1-1 and stay with the victim.
Please remember the OPP supports Canada’s Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act that provides protection from charges for individuals at the scene of a drug overdose for simple drug possession.
